the collection

There are 4,444 Pooka spirits, and no two fell asleep the same way. Every spirit is assembled from five trait layers, stacked like bedding in a burrow, and painted in the folk palette the whole forest shares — cream and butter for the warm things, moss and sage for the green things, pumpkin and berry for the loud things, blush and lavender for the soft things, night and dusk for the hours when everyone else is asleep.

five layers, one spirit

layerwhat it is
BackgroundThe corner of the forest a spirit chose for its nap — from cream mornings and moss clearings to dusk and deep night canvases.
BodyThe spirit itself: the fur, the shape it settled into, the colour it dreamed itself.
ClothesWhatever it fell asleep wearing — knitted, patched, borrowed, hand-me-down forest wardrobe.
EyesHow a spirit meets the world when it finally wakes. For now, of course, they are all closed.
HeadWhat sits on top: hats, sprouts, and the things that simply landed there mid-nap and were never asked to leave.

the ones that changed shape

A púca is a shapeshifter at heart, and while most pookas found their favourite shape in the rabbit, a few never quite settled. Hidden among the 4,444 are spirits that shapeshifted into something else entirely: a cat, a goat, a horse, a raven. Their supply is small, nobody knows which tokens they are hiding inside, and nobody will — not even us — until the reveal. If your spirit wakes up with feathers, you were holding one of the rarest things in the forest all along.

the reveal, honestly

Right now the whole collection is pre-reveal: every token shows one shared image of a sleeping spirit. Metadata is served from https://pooka.life/meta/<id>.json, one file per token. Here is exactly what happens next, in plain words:

  • The full collection art is composited — all 4,444 spirits, every layer combination rendered out.
  • The finished art and metadata are pinned to IPFS, and the team switches the contract's baseURI to that pinned IPFS location. This is a single on-chain transaction — and the moment it lands, every spirit wakes at once.
  • Afterwards, metadata can be frozen permanently with freezeMetadata, so the art can never be changed again — not even by the team.

There is no reveal date to mark on a calendar: the reveal comes after mint, once the full collection art is ready. Until then, the forest sleeps.

your pooka is asleep, and that is correct

The collection is currently pre-reveal. Every Pooka — including yours — shows the same shared sleeping art. It is not a broken image and not a stuck transaction; it is a spirit doing what spirits do best until the baseURI switch wakes it.
